We recently installed an access control lock for a commercial space in South Euclid OH, not far from South Euclid Community Center and just minutes from Mayfield Rd. The customer wanted better control over who can enter stuff areas without dealing with keys that get lost or copied. Their old door had a basic lock and no tracking or controlled access.
Our technician installed a Trilogy swipe card access control lock on the office door. This is a wireless, battery operated system, so it keeps working even during a power outage. It uses proximity cards (swipe or tap cards) instead of keys as you can see in the attached photos. Staff can enter with their assigned card, and management can add or remove users anytime. The lock also still has a mechanical key override as backup.
We prepared the wood door for proper fit, drilled and mounted the Trilogy unit, and aligned the latch and strike so the door closes smooth and secure. Proper alignment matters a lot on access control locks and on every lock actually for both residential and commercial. If the latch doesn’t work good, it drains the battery faster and causes early wear. After install, we tested multiple cards and checked lock response and timing.
Before
This type of battery access control is great for offices, clinics, storage rooms, and employee only areas. No wiring needed and very reliable. Also rated against forced entry better than standard office locks.
Quick tip from this job: keep track of issued cards and remove lost ones from the system right away. Also replace batteries once a year even if they still work. That prevents lockouts and keeps access steady.
