We recently helped a small business owner in Lakewood OH with a front door security upgrade near Detroit Ave, not far from Lakewood Park. The storefront had an older Adam’s Rite dead bolt that was worn and hard to turn as you can see in the photos attached. The door also wasn’t latching tight every times, which is a common problem on aluminum glass doors that get used all day by customers and staff.
Our technician removed the old Adam’s Rite dead bolt mechanism and prepped the aluminum door stile for a new setup. We installed a push paddle exit device with a dead latch along with a Trilogy access lock. This system allows the owner to use a keypad code or a small remote fob to buzz customers in. It still works with a regular key as backup, so the business has flexible entry options without passing keys around.

We also adjusted the strike and latch alignment so the door closes smooth and locks firm. Many storefront lock failures actually come from door misalignment, not the lock itself which its usually just finer. When the latch doesn’t hit the strike clean, people pull harder on the handle and that wears out the deadlatch and cylinder fast. After our adjustment, the door shut easy and secure every time.
