Reflashing the ECU (Engine Control Unit) in Many Older Toyota Lexus and Honda models from 1998 to as late as 2005 is required when making new keys.
The reflash procedure consists of taking apart the glove box in order to get to the ECU unit or sometimes it’s conveniently located under the hood.
We use a machine called EZ Flasher to clear the old keys from the memory and then we are able to program new keys onboard using the vehicles to learn the system.
